Pupil services

The Department of Pupil Services provides a wide variety of services to Jefferson County Schools students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.

Pupil Services professionals assure the implementation of student Individual Education Plans and supervise 504 educational plans. The Director of Pupil Services coordinates for all county standardized student testing. School psychologists primarily provide psycho-educational assessments for referred students, and the school social worker coordinates student support and social services.

The Department supervises the Homebound Program for students who cannot attend school because of health reasons. It provides coordination and leadership for the school guidance counseling and school nursing programs. The Department also includes the Parent Education Resource Center, a resource focused on the needs of the parents of special education students, but available to all students.
