Continuing Education Packets for Mathematics and Homeroom can be downloaded on the Useful Links page.

My name is Christa Heavner. I have taught at Wright Denny Intermediate School since 2014. I am a proud lifetime resident of Jefferson County, and I actually grew up in the Jefferson County School system. I am thankful for the many teachers that positively influenced my education here in this wonderful county, and I strive to do the same for the students that come through my door each and every day. I graduated from Shepherd University in December of 2013 with a major in Elementary Education and a Specialization in Mathematics Grades 5-9. I love each and every subject in school, but I have a distinct fondness for mathematics since I truly enjoy learning and teaching math.

Additionally, on a more personal note, I enjoy living with my husband and daughter adjacent to my family farm, with three horses, over a hundred chickens, and three  large dogs, located in Kearneysville. I will try to incorporate agricultural aspects into the classroom whenever possible. Since it played such an important role throughout my life, I love to share that element with my students. I was a member of the FFA in high school and participated in raising, breeding, and showing cattle, goats, lambs, chickens, and turkeys.

I truly cannot wait to meet you and your children this year because I know we will have a terrific and memorable year together!
