Programs and Special Events

A teacher advisor works with Student Government, which is composed of representatives elected by the entire student body. Many Student Government activities, such as the Food Drive in November for the Council of Ministries Food Bank, promote community awareness, while others, such as Spirit Week and Field Day, promote pride in our school.

Students with special interest in the arts have the opportunity to participate in special chorus and art programs led by the art and music teachers. Instrumental music classes are also available. Student aides help the media specialist with library projects.

Students enrich classroom studies with participation in hands-on history trips to School House Ridge, Burr Farm, and the Smithsonian Museums; and a math field day. We also study diversity and celebrate our family heritage with an yearly international luncheon. In the spring, we look forward to the future with school-wide career days.
